Self-adhesive polymer membrane
self-adhesive polymer-modified asphalt waterproofing membrane is a reinforced self-adhesive waterproofing product. It utilizes a high-strength, high-elongation polyester mat as the base and polymer-modified asphalt—capable of self-adhesion at ambient temperatures—as the coating material. The upper surface features a release layer of polyethylene film, fine sand, or aluminum foil, while the underside is lined with a peelable silicone-coated release film or creped paper to prevent sticking.
Features:
Cold-applied installation: requires no open flames or additional adhesives; environmentally friendly and pollution-free.
Excellent bonding performance: suitable for application on damp substrates; ensures secure, crack-free overlaps and prevents water migration at the interface.
High tensile strength and elongation: highly adaptable to substrate shrinkage, cracking, and deformation.
Unique “self-healing” capability: automatically seals punctures caused by sharp, hard objects.
High resistance to damage; repairs are extremely simple should any damage occur.
Scope of Application:
Suitable for waterproofing projects involving industrial and civil building roofs, basements, municipal works, reservoirs, swimming pools, bridges, subways, and tunnels. It is particularly suitable for waterproofing applications in facilities where the use of open flames is prohibited, such as oil depots, chemical plants, textile mills, and grain warehouses.
Construction Guidelines:
For winter construction, ensure the ambient temperature remains above 10°C.
When using the “dry-lay method,” the treated substrate must be allowed to dry completely—until it is tack-free to the touch—before proceeding with the membrane installation.
When using the “wet-lay method,” do not walk on the waterproofing layer before the slurry has hardened, to avoid damaging the layer; if the cement slurry loses water too quickly during construction, an appropriate amount of water may be added to restore fluidity to the surface before laying the membrane.
When laying the membrane over large areas, do not remove the release film from the overlap zones too early, so as to prevent contamination or accidental adhesion.
Packaging and Storage:
The product is packaged using adhesive tape or plastic bags.
Store the product in a dry, well-ventilated environment at temperatures not exceeding 45°C; protect it from direct sunlight and rain, and ensure the packaging remains intact.
Under normal conditions, the shelf life is one year (calculated from the date of manufacture).
During storage, the product should be placed upright in a single layer, and rolls of different specifications should be stacked separately. Keep away from sources of fire. Prevent tilting or lateral compression during transport, and cover with a tarpaulin if necessary.
