Self-adhesive membrane for metal roofing

Our company has developed a specialized waterproofing membrane specifically for metal roofing. This product effectively addresses the shortcomings of standard self-adhesive membranes—namely, low heat resistance (typically 70°C) and a tendency to melt or flow—when used on metal roofs. This innovative product boasts a high-temperature resistance of up to 110°C. It offers an 80% increase in bond strength compared to standard self-adhesive membranes, and its aluminum foil facing makes it ideally suited for use on color-coated steel roofing.

Construction Method
Designed for the treatment of monolithic roofs with severe leakage issues, this method involves applying a layer of aluminum foil over a membrane that offers excellent deformation resistance and ease of installation. This significantly enhances solar reflectivity and extends the service life of the membrane, ensuring a waterproofing lifespan of over 20 years. The installation process follows the same procedure as that for fully adhered TPO self-adhesive membranes.

Specifications for Spot Repair Products:
Double-sided self-adhesive aluminum foil-faced products: Customizable specifications (thickness: 2mm, 1.5mm, 1.2mm; width: 20cm, 10cm, or custom sizes). Preventive and repair solutions are tailored to specific project conditions, offering cost-effectiveness and reliable results.
1. Leakage prevention for new construction: Prevention is always better than a remedy after the damage is done. Large-span projects with low roof slopes are prone to leakage at the joints. Our specially developed double-sided self-adhesive waterproof tape features excellent aging resistance, strong adhesion, ease of application, and reliable performance; it bonds firmly to glass, wood, cement substrates, various metal surfaces, and diverse wall materials.
Application Method: a. For metal roofing membrane installation, apply the self-adhesive tape to the top surface of the lower roofing sheet at the overlap point, then overlay it with the upper roofing sheet. Ensure the roofing surface is free of dust and oil/grease. b. Use the self-adhesive tape instead of standard silicone sealant for detailing around roof features such as light wells and skylight shafts (Note: Silicone sealant can corrode metal roofing, causing rust, and tends to age, become brittle, and crack rapidly upon exposure to sunlight).

2. Localized Repair Plan
For localized leaks in existing roofs, self-adhesive aluminum foil tape is used for repairs. This method offers the advantages of durability and high effectiveness. The tape is applied to seal all leaking seams and critical areas—such as gutters, roof fans, and skylight wells—while leaks at nail heads can be addressed by simply cutting the tape into small pieces and applying them over the heads.
