Cementitious Crystalline Waterproofing

Cement-based capillary crystalline waterproofing material is produced by grinding and dry-blending ordinary Portland cement, selected quartz sand, inorganic nanomaterials, and various active chemical substances (with key components sourced from Germany). Free from organic additives such as polymer powders or cellulose, the product appears as a gray powder and serves as a high-performance, eco-friendly waterproofing solution. It is suitable for concrete waterproofing projects; when mixed with clean water and applied to the concrete surface, it enhances the concrete’s density, thereby achieving structural self-waterproofing. Additionally, the product helps increase concrete strength and protect reinforcing steel.

Construction Process
@ Substrate Preparation: The substrate surface must be level, solid, and free of sharp objects, loose dust, standing water, and oil stains. Internal and external corners, as well as pipe penetrations, should be rounded (filleted); the radius for internal corners should exceed 25 mm, and for external corners, it should exceed 5 mm. Uneven areas and cracks must be leveled first, and any leaks must be sealed prior to application. Mixing: Prepare the mixture according to the weight ratios specified on the product packaging; the amount of added water may be adjusted to modify the coating’s viscosity to suit vertical or horizontal surfaces. If water is required, add it to the liquid component first, then gradually introduce the powder component while stirring with a mixer. Mix for 5 minutes until the mixture is uniform and free of lumps. The prepared mixture should be used within 2 hours; otherwise, an increase in viscosity may affect application.
@ Detailing (Reinforcement Layer) & @ Large-Area Waterproofing Layer Construction: Fill grooves with sealant material. Apply multiple coats (2–4 coats) to details such as internal/external corners and pipe penetrations; for underground projects, it is advisable to embed a layer of reinforcing fabric.

When applying waterproofing coatings over large areas, multiple coats should be used—typically four layers, though special projects may require five. An interval of approximately eight hours is generally required between coats (extended during winter). The first coat should be applied thinly (ideally 0.2–0.3 mm), while subsequent coats should be 0.4–0.5 mm thick; the total coating consumption is approximately 0.8 kg/m². Excessive thickness in a single pass should be avoided. For vertical surfaces, little to no water should be added to the coating to prevent sagging, which could make it difficult to achieve the design thickness and lead to excessive material accumulation—and subsequent cracking—at internal and external corners. When incorporating reinforcement materials (such as fabric or mesh), the material must be laid flat and free of wrinkles, with an overlap of at least 100 mm; a base coat should be applied first, followed by another coat over the reinforcement. Once the waterproof coating system is completed and passes inspection, the finished surface must be protected.
Construction of the protective/separation layer: After the waterproof layer is completed and passes inspection, the protective/separation layer should be installed in accordance with design specifications.
